SwitchWithAI vs Jobscan: Which Fits Indian Job Seekers?

SwitchWithAI vs Jobscan compared honestly: free limits, how each handles keywords, layout, honesty, privacy and price, and who should choose which.

By SwitchWithAI Team — Career tools, ATS workflows, and job-search research

If you have searched for an ATS resume checker, you have probably met Jobscan. It is one of the best-known tools for comparing a resume with a job description. You may also have met the catch: a limited number of free scans, then a subscription priced in US dollars.

We make SwitchWithAI, a competitor, so read this with that in mind. We have tried to describe Jobscan fairly, using its public pages and independent reviews, and to be straight about where it is stronger. Details about Jobscan can change, so confirm anything that affects a purchase on its own site.

Where Jobscan is stronger

It would be unfair to pretend otherwise.

  • It is established. Jobscan has been around for years, and many job seekers and career coaches know it.
  • The toolkit is broader. Reviews describe paid extras such as cover letter generation and LinkedIn optimisation.
  • The match-report format is familiar. Many people like seeing a clear list of matched and missing keywords against a job.

If you want that match report, are comfortable with dollar pricing and do not need your resume rewritten, Jobscan does what it says.

Where SwitchWithAI is different

1. The check is free and needs no account

The SwitchWithAI ATS checker shows its findings without a signup or a cap. Upload a DOCX, PDF or TXT, optionally paste a job, and read the result. Your resume is read for the check and not stored.

2. It does the rewriting, inside your own document

A match report tells you what is missing. Then the work is yours: edit the file, avoid breaking the layout, and decide how to phrase things. SwitchWithAI does that step. It writes back into your document's own structure, so fonts, spacing, margins and columns stay as you built them. Designer templates come back intact.

3. It will not invent a skill

This is the point we care about most. If a job asks for something absent from your experience, SwitchWithAI tells you it is missing rather than writing it in. Keyword matchers can nudge you toward adding words to lift a percentage. A resume you cannot defend in an interview is worse than one with a few gaps, as we explain in tailoring a resume without inventing anything.

4. Every change is visible

You see each edit beside the original and accept or reject it line by line, or edit it yourself. Tone rules you set carry across future tailors.

5. It is built for how Indians apply

Many roles are found on Naukri. The SwitchWithAI Chrome extension captures a posting from Naukri so you do not copy and paste, and prices are in rupees. You can read the details in our guide to tailoring a resume for Naukri.

Where SwitchWithAI is weaker

  • It is newer and smaller. Jobscan has a longer track record and a wider feature set.
  • It improves a resume you already have. It does not build one from a blank page.
  • It does not apply to jobs for you. There is no auto-apply, and nothing is sent without you. That is deliberate, but if you want it, look elsewhere.

Keywords: the part to be careful with

Both tools help you find the job's language. The difference is what happens next. A match percentage is a number you can push up by adding words, and that is how resumes end up reading like keyword lists. Our view is that the right use of a job's language is to describe work you really did in the same words. If you want to do that by hand, our guide to finding the right keywords in a job description shows how.

Privacy and data

You are uploading your employment history and contact details. Whatever you use, read the privacy statement. With SwitchWithAI the check reads your resume and does not store it, and you can delete a resume, a role or your whole account, and the files go with it.

Price

We are not going to quote Jobscan's current prices, because they change and vendors set them in dollars. Check Jobscan's pricing page, and compare it against SwitchWithAI's pricing in rupees. The checker is free regardless of plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is SwitchWithAI a good Jobscan alternative?

For Indian job seekers who want a free check and want their own resume tailored without losing its design, yes. Jobscan has a broader toolkit and longer history, so it may suit you better if you want its extras.

Is Jobscan free?

Jobscan offers a limited free tier; reviews report about five scans per month, with a paid subscription for unlimited use. Confirm current limits and prices on its site.

Does SwitchWithAI give an ATS score like Jobscan's match rate?

It reports findings on parsing, structure and alignment with a job description, and a score summarising them. It deliberately does not claim there is one universal ATS score, and no tool can see an employer's private rules.

Will SwitchWithAI add keywords I don't have?

No. If a job asks for something missing from your resume, it tells you it is missing. It only works in terms your experience supports.

Can I use both?

Yes. Some people run their resume through several checkers and fix what they agree on. Using more than one is a reasonable way to avoid over-trusting any single score.

Run the free check

Start with the checker, see what it finds, and decide whether you need tailoring on top.

Try it on yours

Upload or paste your resume and see what a parser makes of it.

Your resume is read for the check only and never stored. No account is needed.
