SwitchWithAI ('we,' 'us,' 'our,' or 'Company') is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise handle your information when you use our website (www.switchwithai.com), Chrome extension, and related services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the information you choose to provide directly, such as your Google sign-in profile, uploaded resume files, extracted resume details, job descriptions you paste, and preferences you save inside the app.

• Google account profile details (email, name, picture) for authentication
• Resume source files (DOCX) and parsed content (skills, experience, education)
• Visual motif data from your resume (accent color, fonts, layout)
• Job descriptions you capture from LinkedIn, Naukri, or paste manually
• Tailoring outputs, session history, and usage data
• Application tracking data (status, dates, notes)
• Billing information (plan, payment history, usage counts)
• Basic technical information (IP address, browser type, device info, error logs)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide SwitchWithAI services: store your workspace, parse resumes, tailor resumes for specific jobs, extract and inject ATS keywords, preserve formatting, show matching insights, and track applications.

We also use data to: secure the platform against abuse, improve reliability and performance, support billing and payments, respond to support requests, and comply with legal requirements.

4. AI Processing & Third-Party Services

When you tailor a resume, we send your resume text and job description to Google's Gemini API for AI-powered analysis and rewriting. This data is processed temporarily and not retained by Google beyond the API request.

Other services that may access your data:

• Supabase/PostgreSQL: Database hosting (encrypted at rest)
• Google Drive: Temporary PDF conversion (file deleted after export)
• Razorpay: Payment processing (PCI compliant, encrypted)
• Google Analytics: Anonymized usage analytics
• Vercel: Frontend hosting
• Oracle Cloud: Backend server infrastructure and hosting

5. Chrome Extension Privacy

Our Chrome extension can read job postings from LinkedIn and Naukri pages when you click the extension icon. It does NOT access your credentials, messages, connections, or private profile data. The extension stores your auth token locally for seamless login.

If you use the extension's optional "update my Naukri profile" feature, it uses your existing, already-logged-in Naukri browser session to upload your tailored resume file to your own Naukri profile — the same as if you had done it yourself. We never see, store, or transmit your Naukri password, and this action only runs when you explicitly trigger it.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security: HTTPS encryption in transit, database access controls, secure authentication via JWT tokens, and regular security practices. However, no online system is 100% secure. Avoid uploading information you're not comfortable storing in a cloud-based service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your uploaded resume, tailored files, and run history for as long as your account is active, so you can re-download and review past runs. You can delete your saved resume from the studio at any time, and you can delete your entire account from Settings; both remove the files from our servers immediately (database backups age out within 30 days). Resumes contain personal details such as your phone number and employers, so we never use them to train models and never share them with third parties beyond the AI provider that processes each run. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.

8. Your Rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information anytime. For California (CCPA) residents: you have rights to know what data we collect, delete personal data, and opt-out. For EU (GDPR) residents: additional rights include data portability and erasure.

9. Sharing Your Information

We do NOT sell your resume or personal data. We share data with service providers only to operate SwitchWithAI. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect legal rights.

10. Children's Privacy

SwitchWithAI is not for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors and will delete any account discovered to belong to a minor.

11. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Your continued use means you accept the updated policy.
