What a fresher resume needs, in this order.
A fresher resume is one page, one column, newest first. These are the sections, and what goes in each.

Name and contact
Name, city, phone, a professional email, and LinkedIn or GitHub if they show your work. As plain text at the top of the page, never inside a header, a photo or an icon.

Education
Degree and branch, college, years, and CGPA or percentage. Add Class XII while your degree is still in progress. Newest first.

Projects and internships
The heart of a fresher resume. Two or three bullets each: what you built or did, with which tools, and what came of it, only as far as it is true.

Skills
Languages, tools and methods you have actually used, written the way job postings write them: "Power BI", not "PowerBI"; "SQL", not "databases".

Certifications and achievements
Courses you finished, hackathons, ranks, scholarships, a club you ran. Short, one line each.

Summary (optional)
Two plain sentences: who you are and what you have built. Skip the "hard-working, passionate" lines; recruiters skip them too.
Format rules
Why the layout matters to an ATS.
- One column is the safest for any portal. If you like two columns, keep the reading order sensible: our Sidebar and Banner layouts read your name, contact and skills first, then your work, and never use text boxes.
- Standard headings: Education, Projects, Internships, Skills. Creative labels such as "My Journey" are sorted into the wrong field.
- Real text everywhere. Skill bars, star ratings and icons in place of words are invisible to the parser.
- No photo, date of birth or declaration, unless an application asks for them.
- Send a PDF where a portal accepts it, and keep the Word file to edit and tailor.

What freshers ask before they build.
What is the best resume format for freshers?
A one-page, one-column resume in reverse-chronological order: contact details, education with your CGPA or percentage, projects and internships with two or three bullet points each, skills, and then certifications and achievements. Use standard headings such as Education, Projects and Skills so an ATS can sort each part correctly.
Should a fresher resume be one page?
Yes, for almost every fresher. Recruiters spend seconds on a first pass, and one page forces the strongest projects to the top. Every layout in this builder is checked to keep a typical fresher resume (two education entries, three projects, a dozen skills) on one A4 page.
Is this resume builder really free?

Is the resume ATS-friendly?
Every word is real text with standard headings, no text boxes and no icons standing in for words. Classic, Timeline and Tech are one column, the safest choice for any portal. Sidebar and Banner use two columns built as one simple table that parsers read in order: name, contact and skills, then your work. Each layout is checked with our own ATS checker and has no critical finding.
Should I add a photo, date of birth or a declaration to my resume?
No. A photo, date of birth, marital status and a closing declaration take space and can confuse an ATS, and most private-sector employers in India do not ask for them. Add them only when a specific application explicitly asks.
Does the AI write my resume for me?
No. You write what you did in rough notes, and Polish rewrites them into clean bullet points. It may not add any number, tool, employer or result you did not type: if it does, your own words are kept instead.
What happens to the details I type?
They stay in your browser until you press Finish. The generated Word file and PDF are kept on our server for 24 hours so the download and email links work, then deleted. Your email is added to our list only if you tick the box.
