Read the Receipts
Accepting a rewrite you have not read is how a false line reaches an interview.
You sign the document. Read it like it is yours, because it is.
Read every changed line
Not the summary of what changed. The actual line, next to the one it replaced. It takes a minute and it is the minute that matters.
Reject anything you cannot source
If you cannot point to where in your history a claim comes from, it does not go out. No exceptions for lines that read well.
Watch for quiet inflation
'Helped with' becoming 'led'. 'A team' becoming 'four teams'. Small drifts read fine on the page and collapse under one question.
Before

After
Led the migration off the legacy billing system.
One word, and a scope claim you may not be able to defend. If you did lead it, keep it and add the evidence. If you contributed, this is the change to reject.
Do this before moving on
Next time you accept a set of changes, pick the one that flatters you most and say out loud how you would answer 'tell me more about that'. If you stumble, reject it.
